Moms’ Retreat Changes
|Thank you for your interest and past support of the Moms’ Retreat. The Moms’ Retreat has run for 12 straight successful years. We are now at the close of the Moms’ Retreat season. The number twelve symbolizes completion, and the Moms’ Retreat has fulfilled the measure of its creation. We are transitioning the love and energy we put into the Moms’ Retreat into a new homeschooling lecture series.
For more information on the themes for each year and keynote speakers, please visit our Moms’ Retreat History page.
The Gathering Home Lecture Series:
Inspiring Latter-day Families
We hope that the lecture series will build greater community in homeschoolers as it will primarily be given in person and travel to communities all over Utah. Each lecture will be followed up with video conference classes to facilitate growth and change.
We anticipate three to four lectures in the series (subject to change):
- Purpose of Education
- God–the ultimate Educator
- The power of stories
- Personal Ministry
- Strength in numbers
- Being builders
- Fulfilling the need
- Spreading Your Influence
Additionally we feel the Homeschool Tribe (open to all denominations) has an important and powerful role in strengthening the homeschooling movement in general. It is a powerful and unique organization that provides:
- Tribalry technology–online platform that connects families with articles, resources, and an events calendar.
- Soi·rées–in-person events that network and strengthen homeschoolers by geographical communities.
- Homeschool Congress–gathering homeschool leadership to work together to strengthen homeschooling in Utah.
Both the Homeschool Tribe and the lecture series function under the Gathering Home Foundation a Utah non-profit 501(c)(3). Any Moms’ Retreat scholarship donations for 2018, will be rolled over to scholarships for the lecture series.
